Technologies, Procedures, and Practices of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture

Overview:

Procedures and Practices of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture

The knowledge and procedures of the Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture program can be applied to extend and enhance the traditional and modern methods of organic farming in a variety of ways.

By using the Maharishi Vedic Farming methodologies—time-tested methods of farming from the Veda and the Vedic Literature—Vedic farmers increase soil fertility, crop growth and vitality, while naturally managing diseases and pests, and enhancing appropriate water availability. These are briefly expressed below and more fully explained in the text which follows.

The farming procedures and programs of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture have their basis in both the traditional and modern methods of natural, organic farming found in every culture. This connection to tradition ensures balance and harmony with the local laws of nature lively in that area. The time-tested nature of these practices also assures us that the methods will result in sustainable agriculture.

In addition, farmers participating in the MVOA programs practice the Maharishi Vedic Technologies of Consciousness— the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Program—whereby the farmer rises to his full potential as a farmer, spontaneously enlivening Natural Law in his own awareness and in his environment. The full mental, physical, and professional development is the very heart of Vedic farming, because it enhances the Support of Nature that can only be gained by living in tune with Natural Law.

Vedic farmers also use the sounds of Veda and the Vedic Literature—the sounds of Natural Law itself—to enliven Natural Law in the farming environment, and thereby directly enliven the holistic and specific Laws of Nature responsible for the growth of his crops. This application of the organizing intelligence of nature itself is done through the Maharishi Vedic Recitation Program or Maharishi Yagya Program, whereby the farmer uses trained Maharishi Vedic Pandits to enliven the full Creative Intelligence of Natural Law in the plants and animals, and to balance the environment to such an extent that it can avert dangers that have not yet come.

These are practical development programs, easy to learn and practice of a daily basis, and proven to be the most effective programs available for the personal development of the farmer and his family, and for balancing the fundamental components of the environment in any agricultural system.

In the following text, we present more details of these practical and effective technologies of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture.

Experiencing the Unified Field of Natural Law through Maharishi's Vedic Science and Technology

As explained above, the knowledge of Veda and the Vedic Literature, as brought to light and understood from a scientific perspective by Maharishi in his Vedic Science and Technology, identifies a single, universal source of all orderliness in Nature. In Vedic science, this source of orderliness, which physics calls the Unified Field, is experienced as the simplest form of man’s awareness, the self-referral level of human consciousness, the transcendental field of consciousness, our own SELF.

Most importantly, Maharishi, in his Vedic Science, has not only identified the Unified Field of Consciousness, but has made it accessible to everyone in their own self-referral awareness through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation® (TM®) program and the TM-Sidhi Program.

Through the TM and TM-Sidhi Program, everyone can directly experience Transcendental Consciousness, and identify his awareness with the self-referral Unified Field of Natural Law, where Veda–the totality of Natural Law–is eternally lively.

This singular discovery of a method to experience the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature and how they arise from consciousness makes it possible for every farmer to rise to higher consciousness (Vedic Consciousness), and make the unlimited creative potential of Veda–total Natural Law–lively within themselves.

Farmers have simply to have the experience of the Unified Field morning and evening through the Maharishi Vedic Technologies of Consciousness, and they will enliven Natural Law in their awareness, and increase the support of Natural Law for themselves and their environment.

This discovery has tremendous practical application in the field of agriculture, as it gives us a direct means within the awareness of the farmer to enliven the Laws of Nature responsible for growth and balance in Nature.

The Transcendental Meditation Program—Developing Consciousness to Gain Support of Nature

To develop the full potential of the farmer, and bring him in attunement with Natural Law, Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture employs the Maharishi Vedic Technologies of Consciousness.

The Maharishi Vedic Technologies of Consciousness include the practical, scientifically validated programs known as the Maharishi Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programs, including Yogic Flying, which apply the most fundamental and powerful level of Natural Law—the Unified Field—for the benefit of humankind.

The Transcendental Meditation technique is a simple, natural, effortless mental technique practiced 15 to 20 minutes twice daily. The Transcendental Meditation technique allows the mind to naturally settle down to increasingly silent and orderly levels of awareness, until it experiences the simplest, most expanded state of awareness, Transcendental Consciousness, where individual consciousness is identified with the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature.

This experience of Transcendental Consciousness, where the mind is restfully alert, promotes balance and optimal functioning in body and mind, and great effectiveness in action. The experience of Transcendental Consciousness develops the individual’s latent creative potential, which enlivens creativity, dynamism, orderliness, and organizing power within one’s awareness, resulting in increased effectiveness and success in daily life. It makes farming both enjoyable and highly successful.

Anyone can easily learn the Transcendental Meditation technique. More than 10 million people, of all ages, belonging to all cultures, religions, and educational backgrounds in countries throughout the world, practice this technique.

The Maharishi Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi Programme

The Maharishi Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi program is an advanced aspect of the Transcendental Meditation program. It trains the individual to think and act from the level of Transcendental Consciousness, spontaneously developing the ability to function in our daily activity from the level of the Unified Field of Natural Law. This experience brings about the full support of Natural Law and the effortless fulfillment of one’s desires in all avenues of life.

The most powerful of the Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi techniques is Yogic Flying, which demonstrates perfect mind-body coordination. This technique has been scientifically correlated with maximum brainwave coherence, indicating maximum orderliness and integration of brain functioning, where the total potential of the brain is fully awakened.

Functioning from this level of total potential of Natural Law, one can command all channels of Nature’s infinite creativity and invincible organizing power. Just as an order from the head of state or the Prime Minister commands the complete authority and resources of the nation for its implementation, any intention projected from the Unified Field of Natural Law commands the infinite organizing power of Natural Law for its immediate fulfillment.

When a sufficient number of people practice Maharishi’s Technologies of Consciousness in the nation, it creates the “Maharishi Effect, or an indomitable level of coherence in national consciousness, bringing peace, happiness, and prosperity to everyone in the nation.

In the Vedic text of the Ramayana, it discusses the outcome of this level of coherence on agriculture in the nation. Ayodhya was the land in ancient Vedic India where the Ruler Ram achieved a perfect level of integrated coherence for his nation:

There (in Ayodhya) trees were always firmly rooted and always endowed with fruit and flowers; the rains came according to desire and the winds were pleasant to the touch. Ramayana

Application of Vedic Sounds to Maximise Plant Growth and Development

Once the farmer develops his consciousness through Maharishi’s Technologies of Consciousness, he will be in a position to use the sounds of Veda and the Vedic Literature to directly enliven the specific Laws of Nature responsible for growth in plants and animals. Maharishi has explained that the sounds of Veda and the Vedic Literature are the reverberations of Natural Law itself, and therefore their enlivenment will naturally promote growth and evolution throughout the environment.

The term “sounds of Veda” refers to the sound value in the texts of Veda and the Vedic Literature. A word has two aspects, sound and meaning. In Veda and the Vedic Literature, the sound value of the Vedic recitation is given importance and not the meaning.

It is the sounds of Veda and the Vedic Literature that are the reverberations of Natural Law and have the ability to enliven those specific laws in the environment. Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture is, therefore, agriculture that is nourished by the Vedic vibrations’ the sounds of the Veda and the Vedic Literature.

We can take any crop in its different stages of growth and maturation. When it sprouts, one type of Natural Law is predominant, so we need to recite the particular Vedic sounds that support sprouting. When the leaves come, we need another type of recitation. At each stage of development, we need the nourishing effect of Vedic sounds. Whatever aspects of Natural Law are needed at each stage of development; we enhance these through the Vedic sounds.

The appropriate application of Natural Law through the Vedic sounds, administered at the proper time and in the proper sequence, will guide and nourish the overall growth of the plant from the energy and intelligence within Natural Law. In this manner, we can supply the higher intelligence of Natural Law directly to the plants, making them the most vital and nourishing food.

When food producers practice the TM and TM-Sidhi programme and then apply the appropriate sutras and slokas from the 40 branches of Veda and the Vedic Literature which are most suitable for growth, they will create a nourishing effect on their own physiology and on the physiology of the crops. Natural Law gets enlivened in the food, and in turn, this enlivens Natural Law in all those who partake of the food.

"Imbalance in nature merely means lack of co-ordination among its various separate elements. If the sun shines when we need rain, there is no co-ordination between the sun and rain. For successful agriculture there are so many fields which need to be coordinated that its beyond the range of the human mind to put all these things in order. The only way is to get down to that level at which all these elements are naturally coordinated—namely, the field of infinite correlation." - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
